Tiggo 5 Celebrates 1 million Exports, Gets 5-star ANCAP Safety Rating

The Chery TIGGO family celebrated a historic milestone as the Tiggo 5 (also called as TIGGO 4 in other markets) marked the export of its one-millionth unit at Dalian Port, China. The event was attended by key leaders from the Dalian Free Trade Zone (Bonded Area), senior executives from Chery, as well as global partners, users, and media representatives, all gathering to witness this remarkable achievement. This milestone not only highlights TIGGO 5's widespread recognition as a standout product in Chery's global lineup but also underscores its world-class competitiveness, driven by exceptional technological innovation.

At the celebration, a senior executive from Chery expressed heartfelt gratitude to users and reaffirmed the company's unwavering commitment to high-quality global development. The executive stated, "The successful export of one million TIGGO 5 units is a testament to the trust and support of our global users. As we stand at this new milestone, we remain dedicated to our 'technology-driven' philosophy. By leveraging our world-class R&D, quality assurance, and sales and service systems, we will continue to deliver exceptional vehicles to users worldwide."

Since its global debut in 2018, the Chery TIGGO 5 has captured the hearts of young consumers in over 70 countries and regions, thanks to its exceptional product quality and precise market positioning. As one of Chery's flagship "global models," it has played a pivotal role in strengthening the brand's international presence. In 2025, TIGGO 5 is set to enter the European market, marking a significant step forward in its journey to compete in the global automotive arena.

Staying true to Chery's "global" philosophy, TIGGO 5 redefines the value standards of the A0-class SUV with three core strengths: "robust safety, cross-border fashion, and superior experience." TIGGO 5's exterior, designed by an international team, incorporates avant-garde and fashionable youthful elements. The muscular body shape enhances the vehicle's overall stylish appearance. The interior features a wide-body embracing layout and a minimalist integrated center console. The driver's 6-way electric seat can be easily adjusted to the most comfortable position based on the driver's body shape and driving habits. TIGGO 5 also prioritizes safety, adhering to stringent ultra-high safety standards and utilizing an integrated cage body design. Additionally, it is equipped with a 7-airbag system that provides cushioning protection from multiple directions, effectively reducing collision impact and safeguarding passengers' lives.

Tailoring its development to meet the demands of global markets has been a key factor in TIGGO 5's success. For instance, in the South American market, where terrain is rugged and climate conditions vary widely, TIGGO 5 has been specially designed to deliver superior off-road capability and adaptability, while also enhancing durability and safety features. Similarly, in the hot, humid, and traffic-intensive environments of Southeast Asia, TIGGO 5 has consistently delivered outstanding performance, earning high praise from consumers. These localized adaptations not only highlight TIGGO 5's ability to flexibly address diverse market needs but also underscore its competitive edge and growing influence in the global automotive industry.
The exceptional strength of the TIGGO 5 series has not only driven its sales to surpass one million units rapidly but has also garnered widespread acclaim in the form of numerous prestigious industry awards. Recently, the Australian version of TIGGO 5 PRO earned a five-star safety rating from the Australasian New Car Assessment Program (ANCAP), highlighting its outstanding safety performance. The vehicle achieved high scores of 88%, 87%, and 85% in Adult Occupant Protection, Child Occupant Protection, and Safety Assist, respectively. Notably, it achieved full marks in both the Side Impact and Far-Side Impact tests, further demonstrating its safety excellence. Additionally, the renowned Australian automotive media outlet DRIVE honored the TIGGO 5 PRO with the title of 'Car of the Year 2024.' These accolades not only underscore the high recognition of the TIGGO 5 series' product quality but also serve as compelling evidence of its continuous progress in the global market.

In fact, TIGGO 5 reaching the milestone of 1 million units exported is just a microcosm and a shining example of Chery's successful overseas expansion. Chery has consistently embraced the global philosophy of "In somewhere, for somewhere," gaining a deep understanding of overseas markets by establishing localized organizations and talent systems, and implementing localized manufacturing, R&D, and sales tailored to each region. Supported by this "rooted" globalization strategy, TIGGO 2, TIGGO 7, and TIGGO 8 have each achieved sales exceeding one million units. With TIGGO 5 now joining this elite group, the Chery TIGGO family has officially established a lineup of four models, each surpassing the one-million-unit mark in global sales.
The export of one million units is far from the end for TIGGO 5. Moving forward, it will continue to deliver safer and more enjoyable driving experiences to users worldwide, leveraging its superior quality and cutting-edge technology. As the TIGGO family continues to rise and expand in the global market, Chery is poised to shine even brighter on the world stage.
