Leveling up choice
The Tiggo 7 Pro easily stands out thanks to its European-inspired design. It’s penned by a Briton, Chery’s vice president and global chief of car design, Kevin Rice. He was instrumental in the design of Mazdas, particularly the MX-5, from 1999 to 2005 and with BMW, for the exterior design of the previous 1, 3 and 4 Series.
For the Tiggo 7 Pro, it makes a statement with its big, bold grille and slim LED headlamps. The foglamps and daytime running lights (DRLs) are all LED as well. The cabin features a floating roof effect achieved by black wrap-around rear pillars. Behind is a red strip that connects the taillights, chrome-tipped dual tailpipes, and a rear spoiler. It rolls on large 18-inch alloy wheels with comfort-oriented 225/60R18 tires.
The stylish touches continue to the interior. The Smart Key offers easy ways to enter the vehicle. Besides unlocking the doors, it also starts the engine, and can also turn on the aircon, open the tailgate and windows — all at a push of a button.
The Tiggo 7 Pro’s cabin features well-crafted, leather-covered upholstery. The power-adjustable front seats feature extensive side bolstering and offer comfort on long drives.
The dashboard is fitted with a 10.25-inch touchscreen with a six-speaker infotainment system that boasts of Bluetooth, mirror link, Android Auto, Apple CarPlay and USB connectivity. The climate, likewise, is controlled by the nearby touch-panel. Phones can also be kept charged with wireless charging plus three USB ports for connectivity with various gadgets.
Other premium Tiggo 7 Pro features include a panoramic sunroof, welcome lights, multi-color cabin ambient lighting, 360-degree HD camera, a power tailgate, a push-button electronic parking brake, a tire pressure monitoring system, a rear camera with front and rear proximity sensors, and a fully digital instrument cluster.
Propelling the Tiggo 7 Pro is a new-generation 1.5-liter turbocharged engine. This DOHC 16-valve Euro 5-compliant 4-cylinder engine is paired with an all-new 9-speed continuously variable transmission (CVT).
The Tiggo 7 Pro will be easy for novice or experienced drivers to handle thanks to its safety features that include Anti-lock Braking System (ABS), Electronic Brakeforce Distribution (EBD), Electronic Stability Program (ESP), Electronic Brake Assist (EBA), Traction Control System (TCS), Hill Assist Control (HDC), Hill Descent Control (HDC), and ISOFIX child-seat tethers.
It also has a Brake Override System, which automatically overrides the throttle when the gas and brake pedals are accidentally depressed at the same time. The Tiggo 7 Pro also has an Emergency Signal System, which flashes the hazard lights at high speed if the driver suddenly brakes when traveling at high speed to quickly alert the motorist following behind.
