After being teased for a Philippine market launch towards the end of the month, Chery Auto Philippines has finally nailed down the launch date for the all-new Tiggo 2 Pro: November 26, 6 PM.
The launch will be carried via a video premiering on Chery Auto Philippines’ Facebook page.
Chery Auto Philippines hasn’t revealed any information yet, but they did confirm that it will “move upmarket and will give more to its buyers in every aspect—from exterior styling to interior comfort, convenience and safety features.”
Globally, the Tiggo 2 Pro comes with a choice between two engines: a normally-aspirated 1.5-liter or a turbocharged 1.0-liter 3-cylinder. The former, a carryover of the current engine, makes 105 horsepower and 135 Nm of torque, while the latter has 101 horsepower and 150 Nm of torque. In both cases, the available transmission options are a 5-speed manual or CVT with nine virtual gears. If the boosted engine does arrive here, it also equates to a switch to electric power steering (EPS).
The Tiggo 2 Pro also feature Chery Auto’s new design language which debuted on the Tiggo 7 Pro. This is headlined by the dot-matrix grille and slim headlights. Over to the side, it continues with the dynamic double shoulder line, while at the back are smoked tail lights with a 3D effect. Possible features include LED headlights and a choice between 16- or 17-inch alloy wheels.
